September 11th  2001: 14 Years Later
Overview As I walked towards the 9/11 Memorial on my visit to NYC back in July, I had to stop because I was overcome with emotion. I sat across the street from where the Twin Towers once stood and cried. The tears would not stop and I had to continue sitting for several minutes. It didn't seem real to me like I wasn't really there. Just a dream. But it was real and so were the tears as I sat not too far from sacred ground. I remember where I was on that awful day. How could I ever forget? 14 years later, I was able to say that I was there to pay my respects. I took photos of the 9/11 Memorial, the North and South Pools, One World Trade Center, and surrounding areas. One thing I wasn't able to do was visit the 9/11 Museum. Maybe next time. I do want to come back.
